Senior Director, UPMC Center for Engagement and Inclusion
David is the Senior Director of the UPMC Center for Engagement and Inclusion. David provides overarching strategic planning, initiative development, and execution oversight to advance diversity and inclusion at UPMC. David’s primary efforts center around enhancing the diversity and cultural competency skill set of our workforce, ensuring culturally and linguistically competent care, enriching the health status of the communities we serve, and growing our diverse patient and health plan member market share through consumer engagement. David is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of diversity and inclusion efforts to ensure alignment and cohesion of shared goals and outcomes. During his fifteen-year tenure with UPMC, David has focused on Human Resource competencies including: recruitment and selection, retention, on-boarding, learning and development, employee engagement, inclusion, and diversity. David teaches Human Resources at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health for those obtaining a master’s in health administration. David obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Duquesne University where he majored in Leadership and Change Management. He obtained his master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from Waynesburg University. David is certified as a Professional in Human Resources by the HR Certification Institute and the Society of Human Resource Management. Born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. David is from Murrysville and now resides in Oakmont.
